So we are in the final stages of closing the deal on the new house.  We were both surprised at long the inspection took yesterday, but then our relative/inspector is thorough and thant God for that!! So we know that there are some minor issues to be fixed, some moderate issues, and one nasty thing to fix.  After hubby did a run down of the list, and an hour's break to watch an episode of Grimm, we were able to think with a clear mind and decided that while the information was a shocker, (we knew there would be SOMEthing, but you never are fully prepared) we can afford to fix all the things.  I personally don't think that we need to have that many bedrooms for suites. In Surrey, it is common practice to have unauthorized suites.  While I like the option, I don't know that we will utilize the suites for anything other than storage, despite the fact that I have 3 fully functional kitchens in this house.  We won't even contemplate having tenants for at least the first 6-12 months. It is my thinking that if there is something amiss with our appliances of the main floor, we can use the other appliances (like substitute them) until we finally have time or finances to get replacements.  Also, I was thinking that we would wait til Boxing Day sales. That is coincidentally how we got our last washer/dryer (as it died in the middle of December).  Luckily, we don't have to replace the washer/dryer in the new place.  Hubby hates them, but I think they will be fine.  We have other things to deal with first, like figuring out where the children will sleep, play, etc. and of course finding enough furniture to fill up the rooms. Shouldn't be a problem for this pack rat. :)

Oops! Gotta babe on my lap now so more later! But things are looking good,.. until I start packing of course.
